Allison
Paganetti was crowned Miss Rhode Island USA 2005 on October 10,
2004 in Providence, RI, taking on 40 women from across the
state to win the title. In addition to winning an extensive prize
package, Allison will compete in the 2005 MISS USA pageant to be
held at the Hippodrome Theatre in Baltimore, MD, on April 11, 2005.
In
2002, Allison successfully graduated from North Kingstown High
School. During her years at the high school, she participated
in
many sports including cheerleading
and Track & Field. During her senior year, she also functioned as the videographer
for the varsity football team. Meanwhile, she worked as a waitress and participated
in countless hours of community service. For five years she coached cheerleading
for the North Kingstown Pre-Teen cheerleading league.
In
2001, her squad placed second at the state cheerleading competition.
This overwhelming moment happened
to be the first time a North Kingstown Youth cheerleading
squad had ever placed at the state competition. In both 2002 and 2003, her
squads were awarded state championship status. She was then awarded the “Service
to Youth” and the “Alumni Award” for years of hard work
and dedication. During her summers, she is a mentor with the Special Olympics
and
instructs them in group sports.
In
2002, Allison was honored with a full Army R.O.T.C. scholarship
to the University of Rhode Island. Over the past
three years she has functioned
as an Army Cadet
and leader at the University. As a Cadet, she participates as a member
of the colorguard and coordinator for social events. In 2003,
she traveled to
Washington
DC with fellow Army Cadets to compete in the Army ten miler. Meanwhile,
she is striving for a major in Kinesiology and a minor in Military
Science.
In
her spare time, Allison mentors fellow cadets and her peers in
nutrition and physical training techniques. Now
that she has retired from head coaching
in
her town, she functions as a dance choreographer and stunt coordinator
for many of the youth teams. Her current goal is to successfully be commissioned
in to
the United States Army as a Second Lieutenant in 2006. She also plans
on graduating from the University of Rhode Island, before beginning
her duties
as an officer
and lady.
