Cranston's former Park Cinema, a one time vintage 1920s film and Vaudeville House, has been reborn as Rhode Island's newest theatre and live entertainment Center, "The Rhode Island Center for Performing Arts (RICPA) at the Historic Park". The venue is now a state of the art, multi-purpose venue that will feature concerts, comedies, theatrical presentations, movies, closed circuit sports and entertainment and other special events. It is expected the theatre will also be used for corporate, civic and local events, which will include meetings, conferences, weddings, athletic competitions and fundraisers. Special celebrity guest speakers may also be included in some of these potential activities.
