Shaelyn McNally was crowned the new Miss Rhode Island Teen USA 2006 on August 28th at Sapinsley Hall at Rhode Island College. Shaelyn is 17 years old and is currently a senior at Lincoln High School.

She is very active in many activities including: cheerleading, band and Future Business Leaders of America. She is also a member of her class executive board. This year Shaelyn is directing the 21st Annual Katy Kurowski Memorial Scholarship Fashion Show. She is very busy with extracurricular activities, but still finds time for schoolwork, tutoring younger students, and her part time job. Shaelyn was recently profiled on Rhode Island’s Amazing Woman for her volunteer work with Department of Children Youth and Families.

There is never a dull moment in Shaelyn’s home either. Shaelyn’s family has been doing foster care for over 5 years; she has four biological sisters and five adopted siblings. Her entire family was present when she won Miss Rhode Island Teen USA and will be there rooting for her at Miss Teen USA this summer.
